The Cars Rev Their Engines

Would it be another sign that the 80s are coming back? It has been 25 years since last time it happened, but The Cars are about to release a new album ‘Move Like This’ and embark on a North America tour on the same date, May 10th. Since their breakup in 1987, Todd Rundgren had tried to form for a little while ‘The New Cars’ , but this time it is the real thing with Ric Ocasek.

These are the tour dates which were just announced:
05/10 – Seattle, WA @ Showbox SoDo
05/12 – Los Angeles, CA @ Palladium
05/13 – Oakland, CA @ Fox Theater
05/15 – Denver, CO @ The Fillmore
05/17 – Minneapolis, MN @ First Avenue
05/18 – Chicago, IL @ Riviera Theatre
05/20 – Toronto, ON @ Sound Academy
05/23 – Washington, DC @ 9:30 Club
05/25 – New York, NY @ Roseland Ballroom
05/26 – Boston, MA @ House of Blues

But meanwhile you can watch the video of their new song ‘Sad Song’, er,… that guitar riff in the opening, not a real surprise and pretty much embracing The Cars old sound.

Even the video looked very 80s, are we really in 2011?
