So, I have a love hate relationship with Hot Hot Heat. I have written some really damning seething hate posts on them and then I have written some more complimentary.
I haven’t been a user of Daytrotter. although others have. I never hopped on the band wagon and there’s another regret I have now corrected.
The Hot Hot Heat Daytrotter Sessions are fantastic. So excited about it I have even downloaded the songs to take with me. I do need to get away from my PC every now and then but I don’t want to leave these songs behind.
To hear them in a more casual atmosphere seems almost an insight to their talent. Drummer, Paul Hawley shines so bright I have to squint. Not only in JFK but in "Nobody’s Accusing You (of having a good time)", the drumming is exhausting.
I’m literally on constant repeat with these tracks. Each play captures another element.
There are 4 songs in total, each better than the next. That’s not even fair to say, each song is outstanding. “Goddess of The Prairie” has vocal strength that makes me want to sing in that tone (though I never ever could).
Hot Hot Heat is hot hot hot on this session. Gorgeous powerful music and the familiar sound of a voice reincarnated but even better. Love this one. And it's daytrotter so it's free!
