Golden years?
Golden years?

1. Just One Of The Guys – Jenny Lewis – This mid-tempo indie pop snoozer doesn’t offer much hope for a return to Jenny’s strengths on the new one? And what are her strengths in 2014? She is like Aimee Mann without the golden age. Produced by Beck, which proves you can fool all the people all the time – C+

2. Paper Cup – The Shoe – The word delicate was invented for this sweet and soothing indie pop stroke – B

3. Earth Is The Loneliest Planet – Morrissey – Yet one more Moz track which is all character and no song. Five years for this? – B

4. Lovers On The run – Echo And the Bunnymen – Which one of you is Echo? Cmon, just messing with you McCulloch, this is a pretty good slice of atmospheric rock – B

5. Girls – Miranda Lambert – Killer waltz off a great album – A

6. Low Season – Bob Mould – Opening track off the newbie and a little gloomy , like he could ward off depression but he isn’t going to – B

7. Echo Boomer – Fucked Up – Another opening track… another ten seconds of silence. Apparently silence is the new music – B+

8. Happy Go Sucky Fucky – Die Antwoord – Song title of the year right here – B

9. Black And White – Parquet Courts – The more I hear this song, the more I think they might be on to something; an addictive smooth rocker – B+

10. Friends – Meshell – I would spell out her last name but this sucks so bad she don’t deserve it – C-
