Summer Love – Kenny G – Brutally bad bossa nova, it is like being stuck in an elevator with mice from “Cinderella” only worse – D
What’s My Age Again – Blink 182 – It makes you feel sorry that now they are still not acting their age but in a venal, silly, useless and heartless way. Nothing exceeds like excess – A
BO$$ – Fifth Harmony – This slice of standard issue dance pop won’t cut it, what’s the point of five part harmonies if you don’t choose songs that highlight them?
Like A Hott Boyy – Kid Ink, Young Thug – Back when homosexuals were deeply closeted this would be playing right after “I’m Coming Out” –a house remix at least – B+
Afraid Of Ghosts – Butch Walker – A friend of mine swears by this dreary mediocre talent – C-
Fair Haired Traveler – Asaf Avidan – Very impressive folk with the finest new (though not in Israel) voice I’ve heard this year – A
Telegram Sam – T Rex – Live at the BBC in 1971, a perfect blueprint of a sound not perfected: nascent glam meets bubblegum on the cusp of art pop – A+
Delirious – The Church – This is so bad it veers into the so bad its good world where the Darkness live, like the Church are to U2 what the Darkness are to the Cure – D
I Believe In A Thing Called Love – The Darkness – Their finest moment is a glam goth mastwork – B+
Superstar – Diana Krall – Krall still has a great voice, though many of her other gifts have left her over the years (arrangement for instance) but she is no Karen carpenter – D
