1. The Crying Game – Nicki Minaj – I get it, I get it, Nicki has a soul, she feels, she hurts, she abuses in the relationship but she is trying really she is trying… A good song no doubt. But it is like Alfafa doing a stripogram, off center somehow. Still such a good song and Jessie Ware? You gotta think, right?  – B+

2. Wabash Cannonball – Boxcar Willie – Is this where Berry got “The Promised Land”? Probably, though not where Berry took it – A

3. Does Your Mother Know – ABBA – By Abba standards this live cut is a stormer with a grab and run guitar making its presence known… on an Abba song – B+

4. Take Me To The Bank – The Bottle Rockets – Where would rock and roll be without that opening riff – B+

5. Prayer – D’Angelo – why am I not overwhelmed? There’s a lot to like but there is nothing to hold on to, the song is ephemeral – B

6. We’re Changing – Corners – This is clever but not as clever as it needs to be to throw so many influences at us – B

7. Dream Police – Cheap Trick – From a 1987 live performance, a steamroller but I wish the sound was a little cleaner

8. Look At Wrist – I LOVE MAKONNEN –  Anybody who can find an excuse for a Hummer pun, or can use wrist for so many turns, can’t be all bad – B+

9. Illuminati – Madonna – Kanye is sooooo 2013 and if there really is a secret shadow government perhaps they can get rid of the next Madonna tour for us – B+
