Hurry Sundown
Hurry Sundown

1. Sun Down – Tricky – With a fine young singer named Tirzah, on a song that sounds as much Portishead as Tricky or Massive Attack, the echoed beat is invaluable and the mood so completely 2014 it is as if r&b caught up with him – B+

2. Relax – Sie7e – The title track is a kitchen sink pure pop explosion of energy – B+

3. Title – Meghan Trainor – A real great sex song with a smile and a smack – A

4. Cheap Talk – Death From Above 1979 – This is a really stroppy little rocker, a real sweetheart – B+

5. Bad Girls – This sounds like a 60s UK girl band, really better than I thought – B+

6. Ooo – Karen O – From her current album, this is the only song that sticks, but it really does stick – B+

7. Kickin’ Da Leaves – Judah And The Lions – Lead of track off their albumis something special, a quasi hippie folk rave with a twist and shouting intro – B+

8. Everything Is Wrong – Interpol – I really can’t hear these guys, they are like the National with a worse singer and no melodies – B-

9. Worried About The Weather – Justin Townes Earle –Beautiful song, opens the new album which doesn’t improve on it, but doesn’t dip much either – A

10. Run (I’m A Natural Disaster) – Gnarls Barkley – Neither guy can do this anymore. Not even close – A+
