1. Bent Nail – Nothing – This sounds like shoe gaze yes, but shoe gaze with an attack that is sometimes missing in other bands and a vocal higher in the mix than we’re used to – A-

2. Edelweiss – Pink Martini and The Von Trapp Family Fingers – The Grandkids discover the joys of three part harmony.

3. Dark waltz – The Men – Sounds like the Heartbreakers without the twang – B+

4. First Love – Ashanti – With Beenie Man no less and the better for it, Beenie Man gets hold of the rapper and sustains the flow – B+

5. Galveston – David Nail – featuring Lee Ann Womack, not bad, but not good either – C+

6. Absolutely Sweet Marie – George Harrison – Beatle for sale – B+
7. Foot Of pride – Lou Reed – Virtuosic speed reading of tough lyric – A
8. Nerve Endings – Eagulls – Opening for Titus Andronicus at Warsaw in June –need I say anything more? – B+
9. Drown In Blue – Marla Mase – Doncker Band amazing here, they sound like a punk rock band from the late 1970s… like was Lenny Kaye there? – A-
10. Had To Hear – Real Estate – Best song on the newbie imprints the melody and the beat in its own quiet way – A-
