6 – Auf Wiederseh’n, Sweetheart – Vera Lynn – England survived WW2 thanks solely to the hard work of Vera, this was her hit single the year Lizzy 2 ascended the throne – B+

7 – Here In My Heart – Al Martino – Classic Italian romantic ballad by the Godfather of 1950s pop – A-

8 – Jambalaya – Jo Stafford – the mainstreaming of country continued apace – B

9 – You Belong To Me – Jo Stafford – This was the first song with a female lead singer to reach the # 1 position in the UK, and a reverse countrypolitan when Patsy Cline covered it – B+
