– ‘Round Midnight – Live, 1955 – Miles Davis – This is the third composition from the Live At Newport album, and it is swoonily beautiful. Who is playing, you ask? Miles Davis, trumpet; Zoot Sims, tenor saxophone; Gerry Mulligan, baritone saxophone; Thelonious Monk, piano; Percy Heath, bass; Connie Kay, drums… pretty sick right? Three years later he would add John Coltrane – A
– Trouble – Keith Richards – I realize Keith should certainly sound like Keith -like obviously, right? But should he sound THIS MUCH like the Stones? Gee, all that’s missing is a decent vocal – B
– Big Me – Foo Fighters – I’ve been trying to remember what this songs name was, this is a really good song so needless to say the proto-emo track never gets played – B+
– No Sympathy From The Devil – Public Enemy – I guess Chuck D is doing his own appropriation – B-
– Every Breaking Wave – U2 – This song is like a girl you are sick of who is still in love with you, she stares at you with so much adoration and longing you just want to run as far and as long as you possibly can – D+
– Roller Coaster – Luke bryan – There is always the possibility I don’t in fact like country – D+
– Warriors – MI.A. – Is that all she’s got? OK, enough already – C+
– Finna Get Loose – Puff Daddy And Family – Pharrell has such a deft touch, even in the most bombastic of genres he retains his cool, he saves this song – B+
– Freedom – Pharrell – Even here, as long as Common isn’t around for the ride, he is fine – B
– Mysterious Ways – U2 – Yeah, no really it is U2 – A+
