Well Wishing

Well Wishing

1. Wishing Well – Screaming Females –  Marissa Paternoster: “I’m certain that many listeners will consider this song a “departure” for us, but really, we’ve never had a set formula as to what style of music we ought to be playing. When we first started playing it live, people seemed to take to it immediately. People would always ask, “Hey play that song about the wishing well or whatever it’s called!”… I vaguely recall my wonderful aunt mentioning that we finally had written a song she liked. So if you’re in the market for a family-friendly Screaming Females song, this is your chance.”

2. Soulshine – Gov’t Mule – Blew em off the other day, kinda regret it when I hear this song – A-

3. See My Baby Jive – Wizzard – So glamorous, a real pop sharpie – A

4. Busby Berkeley Dreams – Magnetic Fields – Hasn’t aged as well as it might, but certainly not the worst thing I’ve ever heard – B+

5. Dweller On The Threshold – Van Morrison – It is like ambient soul – A+

6. Short Movie – Laura Marling – Heavy rock or at least elatively – A

7. Last Midnight – Meryl Streep – This is the one where Sondheim beats Streep – B

8. The Charade – D’Angelo – OK, I am gonna stop trying to like this album now – B

9. Fun City – Like an ATM breaking into your dreams – A-

10. One Life At A Time – Richard Thompson, Thompson – By the numbers – B
