Joooey

Joooey

– Belly Of The Beast – Joey Bada$$ and Chronixx – Talk about strange bedfellows, Chronixx is old school Rastafarian and Bada$$ is a 20 year old new rap wunderkind, this track meets in the New York meets Kingstown world of extreme poverty and is a brilliant one of the best songs of the year deals – A

– Genie In The Bottle – Christina Aguillara – With Nellie, TLC ,and NKOTB touring together, I’m reminded of seeing Christina opening for TLC and giving a well song, audience friendly she couldn’t do today if her life depended on it … circa this song – A-

– Streets Of Your Town – The Go-Betweens – I can hear why this influential proto-indie band remain so respected. They’re catchy – B

– Pennag Dag – Asgeir – Icelandic for I’m not Bjork” but at least you can whistle my tunes – B

– Clap Your Hands – Whilp and Misky – This is a fun click clack of a track – B

– Nobody Knows My troubles – Ryan Bingham – Maybe it’s his name that bugged me? I gotta say this song sounds awful good right now – A

– Love Is A Bad Dream – Derek Grant – Album track masquerading as a single from the Alkaline trio guy, sounds like indie rock – B-

– Dots & Lines – Lupe Fiasco – That’s some hook there, not one of those dark suckers. Finally, a song that doesn’t sound like it was raided from RZA’s PC – B+

– Fireflies – Lights & Motion – Ambient music for the lightheaded – B

– Salad Days – Mac Marco – Demo version but not really – B
