Moody
Moody

1. Take – Sophie Jamieson – From the UK, the new face of old singer songwriters, heavy on the atmospherics, and I mean heavy, but there is something addictive about the deep feel electronic soulfulness of it own. Music to virtually slit your wrists by – B

2. Throw Sum Mo – Rae Sremmurd – Nicki Minaj adds a rap to this Atlanta based duo’s track which seems to be heavy under wraps and struggles to get out – B

3. The Teeth – Hanni El Khatib – If we must listen to modern blues work outs, much better this guy then, say, the Black Keys. At least this guy has the garage vibe the Black Keys lost three years ago – B+

4. Best Friends Tee Shirt/Saudia – Cherub – I keep hearing how fun loving people are without actually finding em particularly fun loving. First Rae Sremmurd and now this synth pop duo – B

5. Jungle Lady – Lion Babe – Childish Gambino provides the rap but don’t let that put you off, this is a gorgeous soul drenched track and should hit for the duo – B+

6. Something New – Axwell Ingrasso – The mainstreaming of EDM is one thing, the middle of the road pop papping something else again. Who is to blame? Calvin Harris and Rihanna – B

7. Under the Influence – Elle King – Back up, back up. The chick in Lion Babe is Vanessa William’s kid and this is Rob Schneider of SNL (you remember: the one with all the nicknames by the photocopier) daughter – B

8. Black – The Soft Moon – Heavy on the bass lo fi dance – B

9. I Remember It Well – Maurice Chevalier –Live on the Ed Sullivan Show. It is tinged with sadness the older you get – B+

10. Building It Still – James Blake – Two notes under a gothic pro-tool – B
