– White Christmas – Bing Crosby – The thing that is lost here, is this was released in the middle of 1942, the melancholia (from Jewish American Irving Berlin), makes more sense when you put it right up close to “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”: both songs suggest that they may all be white Christmases but it isn’t a sure thing by any stretch of the imagination – A+

– Chattanooga Choo Choo – Glenn Miller – If Swing was 1942’s EDM Pop, Glenn is their… well, really nobody compares to him today, perhaps Taylor Swift although Glenn was even bigger than that. This is a sweet swinger and who ever thought of the “noog” “choo” hook? I’ll tell ya: Mack Gordon, the man behind the words behind “At Last” – A+

– For me And My Gal – Judy Garland And Gene Kelley – How great is this song? Fred Loewe stole the intro for “I Could’ve Danced All Night” – A+

– I Don’t Want To Walk Without You – Harry James – Second only to Glenn Miller, the former Benny Goodman trumpeter was a huge star in his own rights, it is odd he isn’t better remembered – A

– Rum And coca cola – The Andrew Sisters – Proto-Latin American pop, working for the Yankee dollar – A+

– The White Cliffs Of Dover – Kay Keyser – Radio band leader and comedian, does a resl number on the classic-dreadful – D

– The White Cliffs Of DoverĀ – Vera Lynne – Wash your mouth out with the original, which didn’t crack the States – A+

– April Say You Will – Simon And Garfunkel – Excellent scene in the Graduate (see it at the bottom) – A

– Real Emotional Girl – Randy newman – Sounds like Leonard Cohen without the gravity – B+

– Issues – Dr Dre – Ice Cube, sure, NWA redux, got it – B-
