Hey rock nyc, this is your first positive review of Tori Amos

1. 16 Shades Of Blue – Tori Amos – Her best song in years isn’t much different that her worst song in years, but any song with a line like “50 is the new black, hurray” is getting her Emily Bronte on musically while watching the clock carefully – B+

2. Eurydice – The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart – When in doubt evoke the Gods of Greece? Well, it pays off here – B+

3. World Peace Is None Of Your Business – Morrissey – I gave it every chance in the world and eventually it kicked in. Especially the tom toms and the cascading bridge – B+

4. Xscape – Michael Jackson – Did I something nice about this album? Somebody claimed to me hey Indestructible wasn’t all that either. True, but it did have Teddy Riley – C

5. Take Me In The Night – Blondie – Ho hum song follows ho hum album  follows ho hum EP follows ho hum concert – B-

6. Lost On The Way Home (featuring Solange) – Chromeo – This gorgeous song may well be Chromeo’s greatest moment – A

7. A Sky Full Of Stars – Coldplay – Their best song featuring stars – B+

8. The Littlest League Of Them All – Guided By Voices – The more I listen to these guys, the more they irritate me – C

9. Run To Me – Bee Gees – Going through the Barry Gibb setlist, I was surprised how much I recognized. This is as good as great Bread – A-

10. A Funky Space Reincarnation – Marvin Gaye – I just love the spoken word stuff and the groove is sly and relentless – A
