– Loud Places – Jamie xx and Romy – I prefer this to “All Under One Roof Raving” not because it is better but because I am old fashioned and it is a clearer delineated song… a soulful song as well, with a great vocal and a memorable melody, where “Rave” is a weird contraption that works despite itself – B+

– Lionsong – Bjork – My second favorite song off the newbie is a heartbreaker of immense proportions, at least partially because we know her hope that he returns is futile in the extreme. The a cappella opening is filled with a sort of worried suspended dread – A

 – Breezeblocks – alt-j – Gotta dig that lead vocal here – B

– Greyhound – Swedish House Martin – One of House’s finest moments, that beat is like paws racing – A

– Autodidact – Swervedriver – This sounds like a rock and roll Pains Of Being Pure At Heart – B+

– Goodnight Vienna (It’s All Down To) – Ringo Starr – Ringo gets uptight but knows what to do about it – A

– Reflections – Misterwives – A haunting intro leads you deep inside and the voice is kinda Kate Bushy immediately – B+

– Us feat Bloody Jay – This is really excellent, it is like if DJ Snake had some weird tricks up his sleeve, excellent arrangement – A-

– DNA – Earl Sweatshirt – Uh oh, hard drugging worrisome, haunted and in trouble… this is where necking a fifth gets you – B+

– Debbie Downer – Courtney Barnett – Sure, part of my problem with Courtney is a reaction to the reaction, but the rest is how boring her singing is – B+
