1. Take Me To Church – Sinead O’Connor – Another in a long line of pretty good Sinead tracks, though the lyric is a little bit, Church rhymes with hurt (I know but I didn’t write it) which isn’t good at all apparently. I’ll give her this: her voice is in prettty good nickĀ – B.
2. Two Weeks – FKA Twigs – This is lovely mood electronic music, already breaking pop – B+
3. When You Awake – The Band – This is a Richard Manuel – Robbie Robertson composition and the outro ranks as one of the greatest you’ll ever hear – A+
4. The Way You Do The Things You Do – The Temptations – Sure, it feels like a Smokey track but like a track that has been doing weightlifting, and you can thank the lead singer for that – A+
5. Liquid Swords – GZA – The heart of the Wu Tang myth is right here, especially that violin sample – A
6. Pour It Up – Rihanna – Watch it all fall out – A
7. Talula – Tori Amos – Her masterpiece, wrapped in her papoose the little fig newton. – A+
8. Your Auntie Grizalda – The Monkees – From the 67 tour, Tork can’t sing it but who cares – B+
9. I’m Ready To Move On/ Wild Heart Reprise – Bleachers – With Yoko On and better than I gave it credit – B+
10. Change My Way Of Living – The Allman brothers – Has the blues ever sounded more like a waltz? It’s a rhetorical question – A
