Chevalier And Bing In 1961

Chevalier And Bing In 1961

1. Medley: I’m Glad That I’m Not Young Enough/I wish I were In Love Again – Bing Crosby And Maurice Chevalier – A child beater and a Nazi collaborator and they are still ten times better than most of our rock stars! Of course, the second half of that isn’t really true and maybe the first half will be revealed to be inaccurate soon.  The thing is, just putting the voices to the side, folks don’t have this much star power any more – B+

2. Girl Almighty – well, except maybe Harry Sykes! This is a top pop track, no not “Blank Space” but way up there – A-

3. Don’t Believe The Hype – Public enemy – And they don’t make rap like this any more, except Chuck D nails it from time to time, once every other album – A+

4. Star Dust – Bing Crosby – what a lyric, I love Louie’s version, but Bing sings this song so perfectly, he glides through it – A

5. Seasons (Waiting On You) – Future Islands – NME’s track of the year. It really is a good track, gorgeous orchestration and soulful vocal – B+

6. Let It Go – Pentatonix – wow, this is annoying – C-

7. Heaven Too  – Homeboy Sandman – From elmhurst and that counts as well, great backing track, great rapper – B+

8. Now You Has Jazz – Bing Crosby And Louis Armstrong – From High Society” -pure love – A+

9. Pussyfootin’ – Rye Coalition – Led Zep if they came from Jersey – B+

10. Swingin’ On A Star – Bing Crosby – A great swinging kids song – A
