1. Tulane – Chuck Berry – Debatably the greatest flying car song of them all, this story of a drug buy gone South is so good both Springsteen and Lennon woulda have killed to write it – A+
2. Somethin’ Bad – Miranda Lambert – With Carrie Underwood – “It sucks” – Helen Bach – C-
3. Kick – Conor Oberst – Above average – B+
4. Avaritua – deadmau5 – Just in case you were wondering, I didn’t like this before I noticed his name – C-
5. Love Someone – Jason Mraz – Diabetics beware – C
6. Foreign – Trey Songz – Ever since that godawaful opening slot for Mariah carey New years Eve 2011 I have been wary of this, but this has a smartish rhythm pattern as a hook – B
7. Good Kisser – Usher – This is a first rate slow burner – A
8. Best Shot – Birdy, Jaymes Young – really good modern folk, she is the teen (was the teen?) with the great cover of “Skinny Love” back when – B+
9. Fade Away (DEMO) – Oasis – This song is a stormer of epic proportions – A
10. What’s The Frequency, Kenneth (Live At SNL, 11/12/94)- R.E.M. – Is this there greatest song. Maybe not, but everything that started for them with “Losing My religion” reached its apex here and then went downwards – A
