1 – Rain Or Shine – Young Fathers – Scotland’s finest sing an ode to absence set in place by an insistent organ and with the three leaders sounding both distracted and cool. The rap isn’t great but everything else sure is – A-

2 – Take A Bow – Madonna – s personal best song co-wrtten with Babyface, it is like being covered in cream – A+

3 – Telephone – Lady Gaga – ANother personal best, an essential dance track – A

4 – Joan Of Arc – Madonna – So the unapologetic bitch has a heart: “I don’t wanna talk about it right now, hold me while I cry my eyes out” – A

5 – Madonna – Drake – Best come on line ever – B+

6 – Till we Start To Kiss – Kat Edmonson – Kat at her best – A

7 – The Things I Regret – Brandi Carlile – A little too rough around the edges – B

8 – Take You Hgh – Kelly Clarkson – Good singing, the song is lame – C+

9 – The Right Stuff – Noel Gallagher – Nice horn near the start, he has grown into a good arranger, ps nearly a minute and a half before the vocals hit  – B-

10 – Real Real Gone – Van Morrison, Michael Buble – One of these guys has a rainbow in their soul – C-
