– Year Of The Hare – Fucked Up – The Who of hardcore are still at it and this is a great song fucked up by an interminable intro and much too much jamming. Still, it is their song I guess and this is to hardcore what “Baba O’Reily” is to hard rock, only less so – A-
– Deja Vu – Giorgio Moroder – Featuring Sia, it has taken awhile but this reveals itself as masterful disco, Sia sounds terrific – A-
– Too Tough – Bully – Excellent song off the eagerly anticipated debutĀ album (my sneak peak of the week) is an indie pop stroke with a better arrangement that we are used to – B
– What’s Her Face – En Vogue – New song by the girl group, heavy on the hip hop production , plus a rap – B-
– Resistance – Hudson Mohawke – This sounds nothing like what we expect from either EDM or pop EDM or Jhene Aiko who is singing lead, it is like it moves sideways into everything you expect it to me – B+
– Dime Store Cowgirl – Kacey Musgraves – I wonder if I’ll wake up one day and get this country girl? “It doesn’t matter where I’m going, I’ll still call my hometown home”? Sure feels like a real self portrait, I can feel it coming, it is round the corner – B+
– Rule The World – Walk Off The World – Toronto pop band, way overblown but I’ll be surprised if it doesn’t break pop – C
– Something More Than Free – Jason Isbell – This is pretty lousy, I don’t need a set of cliches to find my Bruce – C+
– Still Feeling Blue – Gram Parsons – If you wanna spend nearly three hours having your mind blown, take a listen to the Complete Reprise – A+
– Sad But True – Flipper – Nicely turned old time drone – A
