1. Whipping Post – The Allman Brothers – In feverish anticipation for the Allman Brothers last stand (I got a ticket for the penultimate night, despite all my efforts), I’ve been jamming this Duane Allman piece of roughshod blues from a 1970 gig – A

2. His Hands – Jennifer Nettles – we both have our problems with nettles, of course we do, but this duet with brandi carlisle is pretty hot stuff – B+

3. Who’s Gonna Love You More – Leela James – Superior new r&b, for whatever that’s worth – B

4. Goodbye Live – Steve Earle – It is really hard to fuck this Earle masterpiece up and with Emmylou Harris duesting, he doesn’t come close – A

5. Golden Skies – Martin Garrix – This only works if you play it very loud but if you do play it very loud… it works – B+

6. Go – Grimes – she was sounding very mainstream when I caught her at Governors Ball and here this sounds like mainstream EDM pop ballad stuff – B+

7. Beautiful Goodbye – Richard Marx – Mainstream pop star pops again – C+

8. Bathwater – No Doubt – One of their best, a really smart reggae inflected disneyworld of dance – A

9. Somebody To Love – Queen – One of their great ones, sounds like Bohemian Rhapsody goes mainstream – A

10. Whipping Post – The Allman Brothers – Off their debut album and proving fist and for all that Duane and the boys were a live band first – B+
