seeing other pop bands

seeing other pop bands

– Nobody’s Empire – Belle And Sebastian – This is what the band does, very very pretty indie pop, here with a memorable piano motif, and a smart shifting beat, with a wordy story about another failed romance (I think -I drifted off mid lyric) – A-

-The Box – The Last Ten Seconds Of Life – Doesn’t dwell on God, or so it claims – B

– Death By Misadventure – Wussy – Superb riff leads a tuneful indie rocker to its natural conclusion, a cuckold’s story, gorgeous little track   – A-

– Andy Warhol – David Bowie – Survives as a as a masterstroke of instant pop weirdness – A+

– Mr. Face – Ty Segall – This guy bugs m, the outro is OK – C+

– Operator (That’s Not The Way It Feels) – Jim Croce – Didn’t he look like Frank Zappa? – B

– The Eighth Station of the Cross Kebab House – Belle And Sebastian – Awful song from 2005, based upon the bands trip to Israel and Palestine – C

– Heat Wave – Diarrhea Planet – Another very pretty power pop concept without the ornateness – B+

–  I Got The Reason – Conor Oberst And The Mystic Valley Drive – His greatest moment, we can all belong to this reason – A+

– In The Way – The 1978ers – When it works, this duo are real good art rap, when it doesn’t, we have to listen to em explain how music is an exchange – B
