– The Hook (All My Love) (Rough Mix) – Led Zeppelin – From the Zep’s last, pussy, album, this is all very Robert Plant’s Americana version of Zep, and very pretty, the brass solo is especially lovely and Jimmy is much more than brute force here, almost, dare we say it, delicate – B+
– Take Me To Church Live In America – Hosier – A muscular vocal adds a dimension to his huge hit, and the suggestion of spiritual in the background harmonies add even more. Nice one – B+
– Professional Rapper – Lil Dicky – With Snoop, Twista fast slow Lil Dicky irritates Snoop especially “I don’t care about the money…” he claims. Problem with a hook? Ha? – B-
– All My Heart – The Mynabirds – A miniature self portrait that doubles as a break up song, a good intro the album – B+
– Come And Get It – John Newman – When Newman is mediocre his voice will pull you through, this is a tasty disco blast of energy, great horns, but a mediocre song – B
– Pullin’ Up (feat The Weeknd) – Meek Mill – Drake did such a number on this guy I thought I didn’t like the album, so I went back and listened to the album and it is pretty darn good for a kept man – B+
– Back To Back Freestyle – Drake – Even so, from trigger fingers to twitter fingers? – A
– My Mother Was A Friend Of An Enemy Of The People – Blurt – I interviewed these guys in the 80s but I was so drunk I did a crappy job, and listening to this skronking masterpiece, mea culpa. How can something so noisy but so hooky? – A
– Classic – The Knocks – Featuring Fetty Wap, and the hook sounds like Oasis, this is a really good song – B+
– Acquiesce Live At Wembley – Oasis – This is the one I was thinking of, a sturdy take – B+
