The King And I
The King And I

1. Love Me Tender – Barbra Streisand, Elvis Presley – Awful act of necromancy, almost astounding in its lack of chemistry and sexiness and cool and warmth, uncool to an extent not knowable to the average person. Worst song ever – F

2. Don’t Think They Know – Chris Brown, Aaliyah – This is more like necrophilia, though it is a minimalist r&b act of extreme self control – B

3. Lgbt – Lowell – If you turned the volume all the way up, it would absolutely be the anthem she wants it to be – A

4. Inner Demon – Texas In July – Seven songs deep on the new album and they are still hard pounding the drums, singing from the depths of hell, and adding prog rock keyboards just to confound you – B+

5. Kicks – FKA twigs – Wait a second, she is dating Robert Patterson? I’d call it a necro-romancer only vampires are undead – A

6. Bad Attitude – The Mojo Gurus – Country hoe down – B+

7. Easy Goin’ Evening (My Mama’s Call) – Stevie Wonder –  If you think Stevie is gonna end his Songs In The Key Of Life concert with this low key mellifluous harp instrumental, you dont know Stevie – B+

8. Marrow (Late Night Tape Version) – Ezra Vine – “I’ve tasted marrow”? Ugh, but the song is sweet – B

9. Better Than Mine – The Allah Lahs – Sounds like alt-country – B

10. Stop Tricking – Broncho – Indie pop – B
