1 – True Blue – Madonna – Has doo wop ever sounded better. Just a straight up, 50sish perfect pop tune that everybody loves and if they don’t they miss the pop music gene in their soul… she is playing it on this tour!!! – A+
2 – Wakin On A Pretty Day – Kurt Vile – Which rhymes with daze and rhymes with daze and rhymes with daze – B+
3 – Hip Priest – The Fall – Mark had just released this when I interviewed him for Creem and may I just say I was insane over it and still am, made for a pleasurable interview when all the interviewer is doing is saying how much he loves you – A
4 – Repetition – The Fall – One of the greatest statements of intention you’ll ever hear -the three r’s – A+
5 – Saddest Vanilla – Jess Glynne and Emeli Sande – Superb soul brashness and power -divas! – A-
6 – Gay Boyfriend – Garfunkel And Oates – Hysterical, these guys are fabulous – B+
7 – The College Try – Garfunkel And Oates – I wish these guys would write a movie, great lyricists – A-
8 – Dead For Love – The Libertines – What the hell is wrong with these guys? Just the worst boring bad news ballad, tedious beyond human endurance – D-
