Ms Kinney and Ms Sleater

Ms Kinney and Ms Sleater

1. Modern Girl – Sleater Kinney – Off their final (or is that last?) album The Woods, this acoustic pop song makes you wonder why they weren’t more popular with the album reaching # 80 on the Billboard 200, their best placing ever. So, of course, they broke up. This is a really quite wonderful singalong acoustic folk good feel – A

2. Avant Gardener – Courtney Barnett – Speak song super rhyme filled autobiography ends up in an ambulance with new rhymes for emphysema – A

3. Why Don’t you Love Me – Kindness, Devonte Hynes – Soulful new r&b – A-

4. To Ramona – Bob Dylan – Smart advice – A+

5. Too Much Junkie Business – Johnny Thunders – “Tie it up, shoot it up, bang your head and throw it up” – A+

6. First Impression – Kele – Atmospheric beauty from the Bloc Party guy whose new album is mighty fine indeed – B+

7. Save The Grey – Elliphant – The only ordinary song on the EP – B-

8. Accident – Emily Wolfe – Folkie acoustic track, works for me till the bridge which loses me a little – B

9. Loud – Jessie J, Lindsey Stirling – Just add strings – B

10. Runaway – Grace Mitchell – we had a word for this when i was growing up: precocious – B
