– Love Me Like You Do – Ellie Goulding – I am not convinced. No, not unpleasant at all, but the song is a weak, lame, ethereal thing. It doesn’t hook and the lyric doesn’t help: “Love me like you do, what’re you waiting for” goes the chorus and it is even worse than you think. Pop by a confederacy of dunces – C-
– Bassem Sabry – Starts like a melodic motorboat then skewers the melody – C+
– Love Ain’t Enough – The Barr Brothers – A terrific piece of guitar rock, full bloodied, tempo switched out glory – A
-99 – Hollie Cook – Hollie’s favorite and mine – A
– You May Be Right – Billy Joel – This is the musical equivalent of a “you don’t have to be nuts to work here but it helps” but with a rock solid song construction – A
– Endlessly – Guster – They have a nice sound but a lousy band name (they sound like they should be playing some festival with Phish and Moe) – B
– Girls – Beatrice Eli – Not bad modern pop rocky – B
– Little Paper Birds – Wussy – Nice guitar sound – B
– We’ll Keep Running Forever – Joshua Radin – boring singer songwriter – C+
– Safe Sex Pay Checks – Rae Sremmurd – Another chorus that goes “shots shots shots” but not the worse one – C+
