Sad Lisa where true love goes
Sad Lisa where true love goes

1. Heaven/Where True Love Goes – Yusuf/Cat Stevens – Cat claimed he reclaimed “The First Cut Is The Deepest” at last Thursday’s gig but, indeed, this track off An Other Cup is the true act of reclamation: fitting snuggly very next to his beloved “Foreigner Suite” , it is a beauty with a wiseness as timeless as it is true – A-

2. Moonshadow – Cat Stevens – You know what makes this? The “leaping and hopping” makes it – A

3, Wild World – Cat Stevens –  Overrated misogyny, but not overrated by much and not that misogynistic – A-

4. Don’t Be Shy – Sure “Sing Out” is the one we remember but this is nearly its equal, the sageness of the advice is typical, simple but it says it – A

5. People Get Ready – The Impressions – This song is so great Bob Marley included it – A+

6. One Love/People Get Ready – Bob Marley – Toldja – A+

7. Rock Or Bust – AC/DC – Not for nothing but this is a pretty darn great consolidation of everything we love about one of the most unchanging and unerring bands ever, in rock we trust as they rhymic dunamo and falsetto screaming ode to form over everything introduces the band again – A

8. Morning Has Broken – Cat Stevens – I’m not certain if this is an ultimate compliment but I used to think he himself composed the music to this terrific hymnal

9. Sad Lisa – Cat Stevens – Something of an existential wonk job, a manic depressive or is that autistic girl so locked deep into her mind she can’t break or be broken free – A

10.  Blank Space – Cat Stevens – The starbucks lovers are now immortal – A+
