1. Pray To Jesus – Brandy Clark – Lovely country track with a vicious and sad (and maybe a tad obvious) vision of white lower middle class America, equating faith with luck. Not inaccurate just a little self-evident – A-
2. Girl In A Country Song – Maddie And Tae – Before the first verse is over, they want shoes for their feet, it is too cold for cut off jeans and their bikini top chafes – A-
3. A New England – Kirsty MacColl – Billy Bragg’s very own Peter Paul And Mary made his song palatable for the mainstream – A+
4. Y’All Ready Know – Slaughterhouse – Some more self regard, but for a good reason – B+
5. As I Went Out One Morning – Bob Dylan – Did you know Dylan has only played this once, at the start of the 1974 Before The Flood Tour – A+
6. Blue Xmas (To whom It May Concern) – Miles Davis – Hey, don’t you know? Santa hates poor people – B
7. What Do All The People Know – The Monroes – If you have to be a one hit wonder, this is the one hit to have… extra verse in the extended version (“tell me what it is you think you feel, tell me do you think that it’s for real”). They are another Rye Coalition, killed off when their indie label was sold to CBS – A+
8. New York’s Alright (If You Like Sex And Phones) – The Gotobeds – Excellent pop rocker with a great line in dirty mindedness – A
9. Got Me Runnin’ Round – Nickelback, Flo Rida – Good garage rocker turns pop with the rap – B+
10. Gimme A Chance – Azelea Banks – Goes merengue! – A-
