New Spoon And Pop Module

New Spoon And Pop Module

1. Inside Out – Spoon – This is about as different as indie rock can get, the 4 on the floor beat is used for a strange deconstruction of an indie song which hums along like an wall of sound power point presentation – B+

2. Ode To John And Yoko – Hurray For The Riff Raff – One part  musical tribute, two parts Onoisms – A

3.  So Sick Stories – Ratking – King Krule is the guest on this child of new r&b – A

4. Here I  Come (Broader Than Broadway) – Barrington Levy – when Chronixx says tehre is no such thing as Dance Hall, you wonder if he has heard this – B+

5. The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows – Brand New – Like most Emo it is not as good as it has to be, but unlike most emo, it is as good as it needs to be – B

6. Look Out Mama – Hurray For The Riff raff – Wait around for the yodeling – A

7. The Man Who Shot Liberty Vance – Gene Pitney – This is so big a Western song it sounds like a parody of itself – A

8. History Sticks To Your Feet – Modesty Mouse – Break up song, a good one – A

9. Take Me Away – Bleachers – Perfect production and Grimes has a haunting backing vocal, song could be stronger – B+

10. Caldonia – James Brown – Highlight of the movie – A
