I will tell you buster than I ain't a friend of Custer

I will tell you buster than I ain’t a friend of Custer

1. Custer –  Steve Earle, The Milk Carton Kids – An Imprecatory Psalm socking it to the Native Americans worst enemy and greatest revenge, as sung by one Johnny Cash back in 1965. This version, off an upcoming Johnny cash tribute album, sports a typical Earle rasping vocal but is no worse for it as he delights over “The General he don’t ride well anymore” – B+

2 Ethereal – The Underachievers – trying to get their generation some leverage – B+

3. New York State Of Mind – Barbra Streisand And Billy Joel – They belt the little sucker – B

4. Throw My Money – Twista, R. Kelly – Nice mix and match – B

5. Stronger – Tank  – The Linkin Park of soul – C-

6. Streetcars – Sinead O’Connor – Deep album cut that plays like it – C+

7. Flicker – Porter Robinson – Another weird goodie EDM meets wtf – B+

8. Lucid Dreams – SOJA – Great track, beautiful new wave ballad – B+

9. Glitter Be Gay – Barbara Cook – Great composer (Bernstein), great singer (VCook) less than great musical (Candide) – B+

10. Every Afternoon Is Holy – Peter Escott – Church organ helps – B
