Brandon-Flowers-Still-Want-You-560x560

– Still Want You – Brandon Flowers – I don’t have much hope for the album but man is the song sticky, it has been on heavy rotation all week and after the disappointing song, the witty, 80s synthful hookiness of it all is a sweetheart of a song – A-

– The Afterlife – Paul Simon – I am thinking of writing an “Ultimate Collection” post… if I did this hysterical look at the hereafter would be high on the list – A

– This Is My Father’s World – Amy Grant – I’ve been seriously considering doing a full fledged review of her new album (I gave it a paragraph on Be Here Now) and maybe I will, till then this deep album cut is lover though minor – B

– Watching The Traffic Flow – Adventures In Bluesland – “You can stay or you can go…” , this is a majorly distracted downer and a New York song par excellence – A

– To Sir With Love – Lulu – Why is this missing the “why is it, Sir…” line? Jerks – A-

– Shine A Light – Jahn Xavier – I heard Jahn cover this at a gig one night, man it was one of the highlights of my concert going career – A

– Rip This Joint – The Rolling Stones – I would pay cash money to heard the Tomas Doncker Band cover this – A+

– Moonlight Mile – The Rolling Stones – I heard Jagger recently claim he has decided not to play the entire Sticky Fingers album this tour because there are five slow ones… I hope he doesn’t think ANYBODY will get bored of this – A

– Can’t You Hear Me Rocking – The Rolling Stones – My friend Sherry is going to Atlanta to catch em on the tour. Me? I can’t afford to leave the State for the show. Bummer, bummer, bummer – A

– 212 – Azealia Banks – This was so big it lasted her two years till she got round to recording the album – A
