Spoon rave shock horror surprise

Spoon rave shock horror surprise

1. Do You – Spoon – Here is a song even Spoon agnostics but unequivocally approve of, a sticky, handclapping, nonsense syllabicating masterstroke, which I noticed when I caught em at Governors Ball and am now insane about – A

2. Radio Sweetheart – Elvis Costello – some hire themselves out for a good time, but you and I we have been sold… one of his greatest songs – A+

3. Jack Daniels – Eric Church – What Milwaukee famous made a loser out of him but not on this song – A

4. Let Your Hair Down – Magic! – I couldn’t  be happier for the band, and I hope they get tp tour behind their hit forever, as long as I don’t have to hear them – C

5. Gimme Something Good – Ryan Adams – This is like a Tom Petty treading water deep album cut groove. A real disappointment – C-

6. Amnesia – 5 Seconds Of Summer – This is for the girls in the audience, where my girls at? – C-

7. Independence Day – Bruce Springsteen – I always considered this a long boring bummer, but it only feels long – C-

8.Independence day – Martina McBride – On the other hand, at least Bruce didn’t write “Let freedom ring, let the white dove sing
Let the whole world know that today is a day of reckoning.” – D

9. Independence Day – Elliott Smith – The best of the three takes a butterfly metaphor as far as it can – B

10. The King Of Broken Hearts – Jim Lauderdale – I prefer his singing to Strait’s here – B+
