– You Send Me – Swamp Dogg – Part jazz, part funk, mr. Dogg wails it into the bayou and twists his voice till it sounds like a sax and the whole thing sounds like he is being sent to the bottom of the river – B+
– Please Mr. Kennedy – Mickey Woods – “it’s a parody of Mr Custer (nearly two years late, someone’s finger clearly right on the pulse of the zeitgeist of the time) inlaid with some contemporary political references. Instead of pleading with General Custer not to send him into battle, Woods’ narrator pleads with President Kennedy not to draft him until his girlfriend marries him; he’s convinced she’ll run off and shack up with someone else if he’s sent off to war.” Perhaps, but it is better than the Costello version – B+
– OT – Berner, Wiz Khalifa – Stoned sleeper – C
– Song Of Life – David Bronson – The central masterpiece on Questions is its own reward and own reply – A
– In The Way – The 1978ers – I am not sure if these guys are too cute for their own good but I am sure they are just cute enough on this fabulous breaking down beats track, all chinky and strange and shar elbowed – B+
– Options – Brika – Jazzy pop sound – B
– Offred – Dan Mangan + Blacksmith – That was a dreamy but strong little track – B
– Nights In The Dark – California X – Fuzzy and fine guitar rocker – B+
– Open Up The Door – Arthur – Of perception, no doubt – B+
– Music Moves Me – The Expendables – So good it carries the album to the halfway mark – B+
