
1. A Doe To A Deer – Los Campesinos – They can sound like classic rock until Garth starts singing and then they sound like Los Campesinos with his ultra wordy lyrics, and this seasonal track isn’t bad at all but it isn’t very Christmassy if you see what I mean – B
2. 12 O’Clock Boys – Spank Rock – This is a terrific mix of deep reverberating beats and alt-rap chant raps – B+
3. Koala – Oliver hendes – Very smart hook and lotsa beats returns us to the roots, well 2009, of EDM – B+
4. In April – Johnny Flynn – This is a surprisingly good folk song from the dreadful (based on the coming attractions) movie “Song One” – B
5. Dat Sound Good – Prhymes – Love the scratching that brings it in – B+
6. The Very Thought Of You – Frank Sinatra – From 1962, and who knew Ray Noble (the composer) was English? – A
7. The Most Beautiful Girl In The World – Jonathan Jackson – No not that one, pretty dreadful except the harp is a nice touch – C+
8. Cry – K. Michelle – This is very good hip hop production values soul – B+
9. Hurts Like Heaven – Coldplay – “it’s so cold, so cold…” Gwan sing along, you know you wanna – A
10. Sweet Jane – The velvet Underground – This is the band that ended the 1960s with their “the kids are being hyped” statement, and this is why – A+
