Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil… not

1. Walking In The Rain – Anika Larsen And Jarrod Spector – I’ve been outspoken in my indifference to the Broadway Musical “Beautiful”. But even so, the piano only first verse and chorus here is a perfect adjunct to Phil’s wall of sound version – A

2. Me And The Wildwood Rose – Carlene Carter – Carlene returns to her 1990 song and it become seven more of a memory song as so many of those folks are long gone. Nicely done – B+

3. Mental Radio – The Faint – Cursive without the chops, they are still pretty good on this off their newbie – B

4. It Might As Well Rain Till September – Jessica Mueller – She sings it well – B

5. To Cut A Long Story Short – Spandau Ballet – That bass line stands up nicely – B

6. Wild Word Demo Version – Cat Stevens – Couldn’t really be stripped down more, right? – B

7. Take – Ratking – Sonic swirls throughout this strange thing – B

8. 21st Of May – Nickel Creek – Harmless enough banjo plucking – B-

9. Accidental Racist – Brad Paisley with LL Cool J – That’ll teach Brad to try and open a dialogue, still the song is so bad… C-

10. Suspicious Minds – Martina McBride – She doesn’t have the voice for it – C+
