Wesley Wolfe Mini Tour

Wesley Wolfe, debatably the single most talented singer-songwriter around, turned me down!! I asked him to write an “influence” post for us but nope -the man is too busy.

He is promoting his absolutely brilliant (we’ve written about it so often here it is ridiculous) Storage debut album on Odessa records and he is touring the mid-west(?) (my geography sucks so bad), from North Carolina to chicago.

His latest release is half of a cassette he shares with Other Trees and hit proves if we doubted it, that the man behind “Little ray Of Sunshine” is no one hit (rather, album) wonder. “Live Until I Die” is as great as anything on Storage, and “Your Friend” off the Odessa compiliation is like a found masterpiece!

All of Wesley’s songs are like found masterpieces. They are so good they take you up short. You kinda can’t believe you’re listening. Like early crenshaw, it is full of small pleasures you can dig for below the surface and full blown melodies right at the top.

He is also terrific live, full of ease, self-confidence, melody and a genuine rapport with the audince. Here are his upcoming dates, if you are in the area? Go and see him.
