So Morrissey was on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon the other night to promote his upcoming North America tour… Honestly, I have heard much more about Morrissey than I have listened to him! I know he is a legend, ex-Smiths frontman, animal-lover, royals-hater, this guy is loved so much by so many people, it is intimidating!
On Jimmy Fallon, he looked like a romantic lounge tenor with purple open shirt on bare chest, crooning over romantic songs with cheesy titles like ‘To Give (The Reason I live)’ – it’s actually a Frankie Vallie cover – pushing his howl in front of his band of matching ‘thugs’ t-shirts, as if he was in competition with Adele. He played it overly dramatic, hand on heart, storming through the song,.. I bet he does this all the time. He also did ‘You have Killed Me’, in a much more muscular and roaring manner.
Helen is actually about to see him, and you should too, because apparently there will never be a Smiths reunion, so it’s Morrissey or nothing. However, there is no way I will go to see him in Los Angeles because he is singing at the Staples Center and I hate this place…
