Village Voice Pazz And Jop Veers Into Irrelevance

Could the Village Voice Pazz And Jop Poll get any more irrelevant? If I wasn’t hitting deadline I don’t think I’d mention it at all but since we’re all here, this kinda is obvious. I guess we might expect that the most popular with critics would be, well, the most popular with critics but still there should be something we haven’t heard of a million times all year.

This is the mainstreaming of pop tastes, and while I loved West’s album myself (and concur with him winning three previous times, I am not thrill by all this. PS. THREE SONGS IN THE TOP SINGLES!!!

Well, congrats now the rock critics are as homogenized as anything else.
