First off I get really pissed if I have to Facebook 'like' a band to hear a new song. That's bribery and what if I don't like it? Then those who are greatly influenced by me (the millions) are mislead.
Truth is Vanna is a great hardcore band that I simply don't pay enough attention for. they're not the top of the heap cuz of a few issues, they're slow. Slowish hardcore always annoys me after awhile. Its the wrong sound for a slow jam so to speak and the screamer ends up sounding like Stanley Kowalski (loot it up loser) instead of a rocker.
OK so I clicked the damn 'like button' and got an earful of..
slow howl. Basically this is the hardcore equivalent of dentist or elevator music. Showing less energy then Andy Williams in a Christmas special Vanna sits on their hands and produces…sound.
Then it dawns on me, the reason Vanna gets no play is that they simply don't try. There is now fury of Devil Wears Prada, no glam of Bring Me The Horizon and now power of Alesana. They're a band that plays hardcore- not a hardcore band.
Sorry its just as easy to 'unlike' which is what I've just done.
