Comment: if ever a year seemed to be about a scene that was waiting to happen, this would appear to be that year. This time three years ago, the pop scene was exploding at its seams, as was hip hop and indie, but since then there has been a steady retraction and this top ten is just sad. It just feels like something has to give.
