Uncut magazine refers to itself as the sister of NME magazine. Wikipedia states it began in "May 1997 as "a monthly magazine aimed at 25- to 45-year-old men that focuses on music and movies"
This monthly publication is rather cool though I am not loyal I will pick it up on occasion.
They do a legends series.. and looky here.. my boys, The Clash. Now usually I wont drop $12.50 on a magazine, really why should I in a digital age?
Perhaps its the fantastic tactile impact of real live pages with some glorious pictures of the boys from 1975 to recent. Great articles chronicle the band career and there are even bits on BAD as well as the other ventures of the band members.
A cheap trip back in time, worth every dime. I didn't intend to write a rap just then but it rhymed so enjoy.
The Clash, often called 'the only band that matters' fill this magazine quite well. There have been many books written about them and many photojournalist endeavors but Uncut wins hands down for the most pleasurable format.
Thought not a tremendously long career The Clash sure did have a ton of stories, they're well described here with an intro by Mick Jones and some photographs that I have never seen before. "The Ultimate Music Guide" and a "148 page Collectors Special" are not to be missed.
Any fan of rock and roll no matter what genre must give props to The Clash- pure genius.
