Two New bands: Hockey and Mi Ami
Two newly minted West Coast bands for you. Hockey are from Portland, Oregon. Mi Ami from San Francisco. Hockey are everything Billy Bob On Poison are aiming for. I discovered them on a favorite blog, the edgitator.wordpress.com … whoever this edgitator is they have pretty good taste in music and these cool glam pop rock boys blaze thru the handful of songs I’ve heard. Mi Ami have the angular weirdness of a “No New York” band from the 80s. They sound like “Y Pants” with better instrumentation and Fire Engines thrown in for good measure. in other words, er, art rock. You can download some of their songs for free on daytrotter.com
