Top 5 music inspired movies of all time; According to Me.

i don't want movies much cuz I have a weird case of ADD.  If I am forced to spend 2 hours on my butt watching other people do stuff, it can make me insane.  But there are certain films that have strong musical influence that have kept me in a chair.  As most would say Pink Floyds "The Wall or The Who's "Tommy" I have to go a bit on the outskirts.  I do really like both of those films but I cant really see myself watching them over and over.

This leads me to watching things over and over.  I cant do it.  People who buy DVD's are odd.  You know how it ends and unless its something of a chronicle- its useless.  If it is a story with a start middle and end.  Seen it done it and its over. Simple

All this being said it was very very easy for me to put together this list of 5 favorites.  These are time tested would watch um a million times films that hit me hard and haven't lost their punch.  I'm not sure how easy it is to get ahold of these- but if you can, I suggest you do.

These are not in any sort of order really they're spots are interchangeable.

1- The Decline of Western Civilization Part 1.  Ahh the brilliant and gorgeous Penelope Spheeris, directed a trilogy of cool but she had me at Part 1.  Showcasing bands like Fear, The Germs and X, this one simple film made me realize there were tons of kids just like me out there.  This film also fueled the Boston vs New York vs LA Hardcore thing.  I was down with NY when the fists flew.  Holy cow that was 1980. Wow.  Great film from a fantastic viewpoint

2-Rude Boy FINALLY got it on DVD as the BEST Valentines Day gift of all time.  This film kept me up to all hours of the night, made me lust after boys in white jeans and made me figure out what Brigade Rosse was.

3- Repo Man.  One of the dumbest movies of all time with Emilo Esteves no less but the music in that film and the killer soundtrack made it coolsville in my circle.  Cuz Pablo Picasso was never called an asshole.. not in New York.

4-Quadrophenia Yup..Cool rockin' British boys  on Vespas no less  Were you rootin' for the Mods or the Rockers?

5-Sid and Nancy.  I stole a car to drive to New York City to see this film in a Greenwich Village theater for three reasons 1- Strummers version of "Love Kills", 2- I wanted to see the Ramones picture over their bed and 3- There was no theater near me that would ever show this.

That'll do it.
