Several movie websites are reporting that Tom Waits will play in the film ‘Seven Psychopaths’ with Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson, Christopher Walken and directed by Martin McDonagh.
The story is about a struggling screenwriter (Colin Farrell) who ‘inadvertently becomes entangled in the Los Angeles criminal underworld after his oddball friends (Sam Rockwell and Christopher Walken) kidnap a gangster’s (Woody Harrelson) beloved Shih Tzu’. Strange comical plot, and there are no words yet on what Tom Waits’ role will be.
So it does not look like Waits will tour after the release of his album ‘Bad as Me’! But I saw Waits on the big screen, in ‘The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus’, ‘Wristcutters: A Love Story’, and ‘Coffee and Cigarettes’ (ha! This conversation with Iggy Pop!) and each time, he was quite a character.
