I am a huge fan of a band called This Providence, and I have been for about two years, maybe even two and a half.
They haven't released anything since their 2009 Where Are You Now?, a phenomenal album. When I read an update from Dan Young, the band's frontman, I was beyond ecstatic. Here's what he said:
I’m writing from my dodgy…scratch that, charming little home studio where I have been spending countless hours working on demos for our new record. All the while I’m thinking, man I really need to mow the lawn or I wonder what it feels like to tour!
The next couple of dates on our calendar are exciting ones. New York residents, come catch Gavin and I play an epic acoustic set to kick off the Fueled By Ramen 15th Anniversary shows on September 7th. Click HERE for DETAILS! And if you are planning on coming, get there early – Gavin and I are going to come say hi to the line outside.
Then we’re heading to Australia for what’s now being called Counter Revolution to play some very awesome shows. DETAILS HERE. I am an Aussie but I never got to see much of the country aside from where I was brought up, so I’m STOKED to see Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth for the first time! I’ve heard great things about Perth, so we decided we’re going to reward ourselves with an extra couple of days hanging out there at the end of the tour.
Writing is nearing its end, songs are awesome, can not wait to get this beast in motion again. See you soooooon(ish)!!!

The anticipation. As a huge fan of these guys, I really hope to not be disappointed, but I don't think I will be. Their level of talent is ineffable and they've been working hard so I have high expectations.
I can't wait to hear more!
