What happens when you send two of the coolest kids out to a field for a three day music fest? Adventure.
Weeks out of graduating high school Layna Cloud and Henry Sins pack up their backpacks and make the trek to Camp Bisco. A few snags along the way made it all the more exciting. Taking public transportation may not have been the best idea especially when novice but with the help of some rad dude (Iman) the kids got from Hartford CT to Albany New York in 8 hours. No one has to know that bus departure dates were blown and they had to hike city blocks in NYC with their bags full of clothing and camp gear. We can keep that our secret.
Upon arrival the texts start flowing. Someone is dead, an overdose an hour after gates open and there is a drunk girl on the bus who Sins is pretty sure I would kill. He is right, this is why these fests are not for me, I’m far too mean to be part of a love in.
My last communications with them on their day of travel was to simply ask them to stay in touch. They would be sucked into that parallel universe soon enough. I woke Thursday to the best text ever.
“These People Are Crazy And I Am Going To Kill Myself.” This is why I love Sins, he cuts to the chase. Apparently 2 tired travelers got no sleep as the ‘crazy’ people blasted car stereos til well past 3am. No quiet time for the weary.
Awake and exhausted they set out to ‘figure out the compound’ as if they were now prisoners of war. Apparently no one really knew what was going on as the press tent had yet to be constructed and even event staff had no idea that where or what that would be.
Camp Bisco provides 3 days and nights of music and camping to the hippest of the hip. Without a doubt Sins and Cloud out hipped the crowd but once they got their fest feet on it was all good in the field. What people don’t realize is that unlike 1 day festival tours these remote camp outs (hollah Woody Fuller king of the tent) are actually remote and isolated events. Literally a field filled for a weekend transformed from barren land to a mad club scene. In all honesty there is no better way to start your summer than overwhelmed with heat people and death rumours!
Seems to me from the boards out there that about 500 people die at every Camp Bisco- all are OD's and all the girls are raped. Since none of this ever makes it to the police blotter we know its hype- well we hope so anyway, otherwise alot of people are compost.
Now enough.. how about some music? It is not too late if you want to join Sins and Cloud- there are Saturday only tickets if you want to be there but not rough it out in camping conditions.
