These Days: Tuesday, September 1st, 2015

Fillicide: Mireya Alejandra Lopez, 22, drowned her twin two year old sons because, according to AP “she didn’t want them to live with the difficulties she faces (…) Lopez offered several reasons for the attacks, including that her kids were bullied and that her stepbrother rarely ate and was anti-social. She also said she and her twins weren’t loved, investigators said in court records.” This isn’t Steven Hayes and Joshua Komisarjevsky, do you put her to death? Life in prison? An asylum? What do you do with insane person?

Sports: The Yanks are not looking good at all, and the Mets keep on rolling to the postseason. If this ends up being a New York World Series (which I doubt), the Mets will roll em.

Recorded: What a disappointment that Miley Cyrus album ended up being, it didn’t survive three spins.

Theatre: David Bowie to give a new song to the “Spongebob The  Musical” as well as songs from John Legend, David Bowie, Cyndi Lauper, Dirty Projectors, The Flaming Lips, T.I., Plain White T’s, They Might Be Giants, Lady Antebellum, Panic! At the Disco, and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry.Tina Landau is behind it, she directed one of the best Musicals just about ever, Adam Guettel’s  “Floyd Collins”.

Live: I never believed live streaming was even vaguely comparable to being there, even StageIt is an entirely different experience. However, too broke to pay the big bucks for a VIP ticket and not willing to stand in line for four hours to watch a huge screen a mile from the stage at Central Park, I plan to view and review Global Citizen, September 26th, 2015, from home this year.
