Windows 10.0: I upgraded a couple of weeks and this sleep, smart operating system is the best in the business. Much better than the baffling 8.0 or luddite 7.0, it is a helluva easy system, a pleasure to negotiate and simple as 1.2.3. I have never had a Mac but I would be shocked if it is as good as this at getting you where you want to go. A personal favorite is the “Task View”. A great way to use your computer and if you have 8.0 the upgrade is free.

Recorded: After reviewing Taylor Upsahl and Dan Whitley side by side, I woke up today for a Kanye West produces Jay playlist from Apple Play – I swear I live for this and I have no idea who is putting it together but while this is way too much Blueprint (a quarter!) it still sounds terrific.

Live: Sunny for Alabama Shakes at Forest Hills Stadium on Saturday. Should be a great night.

Death: Former guitarist and songwriter for classic rock anti-punks REO Speedwagon, Gary Richrath died yesterday. He was 65 years old.

Presidency: Mike Lupica sure got it right when he said Trumpo was a better candidate than Hillary Clinton. Hillary is not her husband, she is not a natural and it is getting to that bad politics place where you can’t be this wooden and expect to win. As The Donald said: “(She’s) not a natural, no matter how you cut it. “One of us is having a great time. And connecting with people. And one of us isn’t having a good time at all.”

News: So what is Russia doing in Syria? Let me help: it is propping up Assad.

Gossip: “I joked and said Krista and I are like the twin towers of love and love conquers all and we’re going to resurrect those towers.” That’s Jerry Casale of Devo explaining his 9-11 themed wedding.

Rock Writing: Since I love Jim Farber of the New York Daily News, why do I disagree with him so much. Because of nonsense like this, from his current interview: “Kurt Cobain reigns as Seattle rock’s top icon, but Chris Cornell outpaces him in talent.” Chris Cornell hasn’t made a decent solo album in his life.
