Live: The True Groove All Stars begin their residency at The Classon Social Club in Brooklyn, the Max’s Kansas City Annual reunion day one at Bowery Electric, shoegaze ancestors Ride at T5, Chromeo at Apollo, Refused at MHOW, Wire At Bowery Ballroom.

Recorded: Chrissybaby is a fascinating trainwreck of pure melodic pop genius, Moroder is the disco Daft Punk, pp;us Florence in heavy rotation though with lowering returns on the time investment, and make that still three goodies on Dawes, though the one I missed and substituted, “Now That It’s Too Late, Maria” is awful good -especially if your name is “Maria”.

Movies: The real problem with Cameron Crowe casting Emma Stone in a role written for an Asian woman in “Aloha”, is it didn’t sell one more ticket. Hell, he could have had a “South Pacific” on his hands, but nooooo….

Sports: Beloved former Yankees pitching coach, the sort of man they are not close to having any longer, is battling multiple myeloma, an incurable blood cancer, again. When you’re living the present you never believe how far into the past it will become. This is a really painful, and, to be blunt, deadly illness.

Weather: 40% chance of rain for the first day of Governors Ball tomorrow…. when will they ,ove it to July? They’re in New York not Fresno.

Politics: Look, a deal will be made with Iran to curb their nuclear expansion in return for lifting sanctions because there are no other options on the table. An Iranian official has announced important progress and if Israel had a better option, they;d have used it by now.
